About Gula Gardens
More than anything Gula Gardens is a passion project. I have been gardening for just over a decade and love connecting people with their food system. It doesn't get more local than your own backyard so that's where I start.

Values
Gardening is for everyone.
In living out that value, we make gardens that work for every space, every budget, and all bodies.
Gardening is a vital practice that embodies creation and ensures everyone has access to fresh food. Backyard gardens are a vital part of reconnecting people to their own little ecosysystem and doing so in a space thats accessible.
Community gardens at schools, churches, or any open green space bring neighbors together, fostering a sense of belonging while providing fresh produce to those need. I also provide free plants/garden supplies as able and have a special discout for nonprofit gardens.
The Guy Behind It All...
Is Nathan Gula (hence the name Gula Gardens). My surname is Hungarian meaning hearty or meaty like the meal Goulash. So naturally I love bringing people together, sharing a meal, and growing the food to make that happen!
I am a transplant to Tampa from Pennsylvania and the gardening here is night and day which really got me into teaching others. I am entirely self-taught and I know a lot about growing plants because I have personally killed thousands of them. Luckily, I am relentlessly optimistic so take a moment and learn from my mistakes.
